2015 SUCCESS STORY
Hashir Dafedar (from the Vengsarkar Acacdemy in Mumbai) attended Cheadle Hulme School for 8 weeks this summer and had an extremely successful outing scoring a hundred in his final game for the school in a T20 match. Divya Prakash (from R Ashwin’s GenNext academy in Chennai) attended Kings College in Taunton for 15 days.
Rupesh Barode is a young orphan cricketer in Mumbai who is mentored by former Mumbai cricketer Sahil Kukreja. The off-spinning all-rounder visited Durham School for 3 weeks in June and had a very positive impact on his own game and also the school in general. The venture was so successful that upon Rupesh’s departure the school raised £3000 to donate to the orphanage where Rupesh lives so that the other children could also see some benefit.
